Meet The Team

Sara began her career as a CPA working in international accounting, but after the birth of her first child she was faced with escaping a domestic violence marriage. Sara was the first person in her family to need a divorce and she knew nothing about the court system or what to expect. Luckily, with help from her family she was able to find an attorney who helped her with her years long custody battle.

Sara applies her work and life experience to help bring guidance for people facing similar family law situations. She has a very good understanding of the uncertainty you can feel when your world is turned upside down and you are facing unknown challenges. Sara has found her passion for helping people through some of the most difficult times in their lives and it shows in both her case results and her clients’ appreciation.

Sara is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Leadership Academy as well as being named a Super Lawyer and Elite Lawyer in Family Law for the last six years. In her free time, Sara enjoys spending time with her family at Grand Lake. And you can often find her wearing orange and supporting her alma mater, Oklahoma State University, at any number of sporting events. She enjoys volunteering and supporting various charitable organizations around Tulsa, including The City Lights Foundation of Oklahoma, Eden Village, and Catholic Charities.

Shannon Brown merged her solo practice with The Schmook Law Firm in October 2025, strengthening the firm’s capabilities in family law. She brings extensive experience in child support matters, having previously served as a child support attorney for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, where she developed a deep understanding of complex enforcement and compliance issues. Originally from Bartlesville, Shannon began her undergraduate studies at Oklahoma State University before completing her Bachelor of Arts degree at Northeastern State University. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from The University of Tulsa College of Law in 2012, graduating alongside colleague Sara.

Following several years of dedicated practice in family law, Shannon has joined The Schmook Law Firm as Managing Attorney. In this leadership role, she contributes not only her subject matter expertise but also her commitment to client advocacy, strategic case management, and the continued growth and excellence of the firm.

Madison Plumhoff joined The Schmook Law Firm in September 2024. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Texas and her Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law, where she graduated with the highest honors.

While in law school, Madison served as Editor in Chief of the Energy Law Journal, where her note on the solar industry was published and recognized with the Robert A. Butkin Outstanding Case Note award. She co-founded the Family Law Student Association, externed with Judge Mary Brown in Dallas County, and received the George and Jean Price Award and the CALI Award for Legal Writing.

Madison is dedicated to family law and committed to strong client advocacy. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music such as Taylor Swift and Sleep Token, and taking nature walks.

Antonella is our exceptional Director of Operations who has a passion for helping clients with their legal needs. She received an Associate of Applied Arts Degree from Tulsa Community College, where she completed her paralegal program with honors and became a Vice President of the Student Association of Paralegals and Legal Assistants.

With her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills, she has become one of the most valuable members of our team managing multiple cases simultaneously while still providing each client with the attention and care they deserve. Antonella's areas of expertise include Paternity cases, the SIJ process, Guardianship, Divorce, and more. She has a deep understanding of the legal system and is committed to ensuring that our clients receive the best possible representation inside and outside the court.

Jennifer Whittaker brings 30 years of experience to our legal team.  With her background in family law, personal injury, estate planning and civil litigation matters, Jennifer provides our clients with confidence that their cases are fully prepared for our attorneys throughout their entire legal process.   Jennifer received her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice with a Paralegal Emphasis from Northeastern State University.  With Jennifer’s extensive experience and her exceptional eye for detail, she is an integral part of our legal team. In her free time Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and her two children.  During the summer you can find her in her happy place every weekend at Lake Tenkiller where she hopes to retire one day.
